Hi everyone!

We’re back from Iceland!

It was simply incredible. It’s hard to capture the beauty of it all — so much of it was BEING there. The air is so wonderfully clear and sweet and the water is this amazing mint green at times and deep aqua at others. Reykjavik, the biggest city seemed so sleepy and residential until we traveled everywhere else and saw what little towns actually looked like. And man they are cute.

So what did we do and where did we go?

I’ll start with Day 1 and keep posting after. Note that we are both still processing our photos, so until then, we’ll post some iphone pics we took.

Day 1: Arrive in Reykjavik
We rented a car, which ended up being AWESOME. I think buses go pretty much everywhere in the summer, but even then, the flexibility and ease of having a car was just awesome for what we wanted to do.
We did an airbnb stay with a fantastic guy named Daniel and his two cute chihuahuas in the heart of Reykjavik. Walking distance to one of the main shopping/cafe streets and to the coast.
We ended up driving to the nearest mountain (10 minutes ish) which was ridiculously beautiful. We were ridiculously lucky to have a clear, sunny day in October apparently, so we took advantage.

After a 3-hour hike (it took locals 1 hour but we were stopping every 30 seconds to take pictures of beautiful rocks and such), Daniel took Wyatt to go swim in the freezing ocean! Mind you, it may have been a nice day, but it was still 40 degrees outside and the water was even colder! Let me remind you that he has no body fat either. Daniel was lovely and brought Wyatt into the frigid water in phases. Feet first, then knees, then waist, then chest, then swim!
